ISTE Conference Update

iste_philadelphia_2015I’m spending much of this week in Philadelphia, attending the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) conference.  The conference is a gathering of thousands people with an interest and expertise in educational technology – school technology administrators, teachers, building and district administrators, staff from state and federal departments of education, school board members, and higher education representatives – for a series of workshops, training sessions, demonstrations, and vendor connections.

Thus far this year, I’ve had the opportunity to attend a variety of sessions that have potential implications for our educational technology program at ADM, including sessions on technology professional development, federal educational technology policies and upcoming changes, an innovative “Choose Your Own Device” (CYOD) program, Scandanavian approaches to educational technology, and many others.  With two more full days of sessions, I’m excited about considering and implementing some of these ideas over the coming year.
