Tech Department Launches Student Tech Program

At the beginning of the Spring, 2015 semester, we launched a student technician program here in the technology department.  Our inaugural semester features three student technicians, Ethan, Kyle, and Zach.

Each of our student techs this semester is a senior at ADM High School, and they share a background with and interest in technology, including plans to major in technology-related areas in college.

During their semester with the department, the students will be exposed to a variety of topics and will acquire a number of skills.  Using a work experience-driven model, students will be exposed to:

  • Network switching/monitoring
  • Computer imaging
  • Wireless network design and maintenance
  • Firewall/content restrictions
  • Hardware repair
  • Mobile device management
  • Directory administration
  • Windows/OS X management
  • Utility scripting
  • Server administration
  • A/V maintenance
  • Network cabling
  • iPad imaging / Chromebook configuration
  • Database reporting

We’re thrilled to have these three talented students working with us this semester, and are excited about the things that they can learn and the ideas that they can bring to the department!
